First EU Tour Announced!

image2.JPG

Since I've been actively touring, I've made it all over the US but I've never had the opportunity to perform in Europe. My family and I lived there while I was in high school and I've always dreamt of returning as a musician.

I am honored to announce that next month, that dream will come true! I'll be opening for Sam Outlaw in Sweden and the UK as well as playing keys and singing harmony in Sam's band.

Unfortunately, due to the conflicting dates, I won't be performing in Pinedale, WY or Grand Forks, ND this July, but I hope to be back to both spots soon! See below for a full list of my European tour dates (note: I'll be performing in Sam's band on all dates listed below AND I'll be performing a solo set on dates noted with an *)!

Won't You Be My Neighbor EP for World Refugee Day

Earlier this year, I had the chance to contribute vocals (along with Josh Ritter, Sean Watkins, the Mastersons, and more!) to my friend Anthony D'Amato's new EP, Won't You Be My Neighbor. It's a collection of songs where 100% of the sales will be donated to the International Rescue Committee (IRC), a group that is working to help refugees worldwide. Today is World Refugee Day, so if you feel so inspired to make a small difference, you can give the collection a listen and purchase here

"Easier Than Leaving" Single Release + Sam Outlaw Tour Starts!

EasierthanLeaving.jpg

Today I kick off my North American tour with Sam Outlaw and I'm releasing an acoustic, live version of my song "Easier Than Leaving."

This version of "Easier Than Leaving" is a stripped down, live take from underneath the willow trees at my previous home in Nashville, TN. I always said I would record someday underneath the willows in the quiet of my backyard and this song was the last chance I had before the willow trees were torn down to make room for new development.

I'm fortunate to be joined by some amazing musicians and friends (Kristin Weber on fiddle and Erin Rae on harmony vocals) who perform with me one last time under the trees.

Rolling Stone called it a "brokenhearted ballad that measures the distance between honesty and heartbreak." You can find the song via iTunes, Spotify, Google Play Music, or any other outlet of your choosing today! AND you can catch me (and Sam Outlaw) at one of the cities below!

"Easier Than Leaving" Video Premier on Rolling Stone Country

Rolling Stone Country premiered a brand new live video of my song "Easier Than Leaving" with Kristin Weber and Erin Rae helping me out on vocals.

"Singer-songwriter Michaela Anne's 'Easier Than Leaving' describes infidelity and the pain of knowing too much, but the video serves as a lovely elegy to pre-growth spurt Nashville. Filmed in the heat of summer, the clip shows Anne singing under a willow tree in the yard where she used to live – before developers turned the place into a construction zone."

2016 Recap!

2016 has been an interesting year for sure. I've been so incredibly grateful for the reception of my new album Bright Lights and the Fame, for the touring I've been able to do, and for the people who have come out to support the shows and purchase merchandise. You are what keeps this going.

I've been so fortunate for all the amazing press I've received this year, and to top things off, Bright Lights and the Fame was just named among Rolling Stone's "15 Great Country and Americana Albums You Didn't Hear in 2016," mixed in with some of my favorite records of the year from artists including John Prine and Wynonna! Read the article here!
